What a horrible book. Not all dad’s go to jail.
They should have a book called:
When mom decided drugs and alcohol were more important than her children and CPS came.
I know one teenaged girl who could use both books. One about her mother and one to give to her own son. you know, whenever someday someone will be able to stand up as that poor child’s father.
This is not funny, nor should it be published on here. Books like this are often utilized by workers in crisis centers of different varieties. They help illustrate to children the trauma they have experienced in a way that they are comfortable with…. you try talking to a young kid about this sort of stuff, then see if it’s funny.
Duh. Not every children’s book is applicable in every circumstance. But for a child who’s watched Daddy be handcuffed and taken away, a book like this can be very helpful. Just like a book about a drug-addicted mother who loses custody to CPS might be useful to a child who lived through THAT experience.

If the Dad’s were “Good” parents
they would NOT be handcuffed and taken to jail..
But I guess that would way too easy to act like a good parent
This book is now read as a requirement to young black children across the country.
I seriously doubt that these types of dads takes their kids fishing!
