THE NAME GAME: MOON UNIT

There is no explanation on Earth that could properly account for Frank Zappa’s names for his children; Moon Unit (pictured), Dweezil, Ahmed Emuukha and Diva Muffin. Although by all reports the singer didn’t try to explain, and simply said he gave them those names “because I wanted to”. Now married to Matchbox Twenty drummer Paul Doucette, Moon Unit neglected to pass on the tradition when she named her own child Mathilda Plum.
