I recently re-watched “Dear Zachary”, not exactly something you want to see twice, but my girlfriend had never seen it and it’s a fantastic film. The reason I bring this up is because the case featured today is eerily similar. Although it was not exactly the system that failed this time, the loss is no easier. Josh Powell, who was being investigated in the disappearance of his wife Susan, locked himself and his two children in his house. He proceeded to attack their necks with a hatchet before setting the house on fire – killing all three of smoke inhalation.
