You should look into the photos origin before you judge, people. This lady was on the news awhile ago. That is her granddaughter or niece or something and she was babysitting. The lady has a disability that makes it extremely hard for her to walk long distances without awful pain.
Despute the excuses, FAIL. Blatantly unsafe. If she is truly unable to handle the stroller safely, then she has no business watching the child. She fails and the parents fail (if the details previously noted are true).
Here’s the story: Melissa is a 15-year cancer survivor who lost her left leg to the illness. She started using the Segway as an assistive device because it’s both maneuverable and because she has difficulty walking, especially on hilly areas. It also allows her to be in the standing position and look people in the eyes during conversations, and be mobile in ways that wheelchairs are not.
Micah and APRILLA – Apparently you are just as stupid as the asshole in the picture. It is unfortunate that she lost her leg, BUT she should not be pushing a stroller at the same time. Many people have crashed or fallen off of those things and if that happened to her she would hurt that baby in the process – that makes her an asshole in my book – a stupid one at that.
She gets props for getting the baby outside but doesn’t matter why shes on the seaway. She could very easily lose control of that stroller and have to comically chase it downhill in that thing. At any rate its not hard to imagine people who could walk just fine doing something like this. I see fat people who can walk using those walker chairs and motorized carts every day. We need some radical lifestyle change here in America.
Not very many comments. Clearly there is something wrong with this picture and that the mother is really stupid..not to mention putting her child in serious danger. People who purposely act and do stupid things should not be able to breed, plus be kept in jail.
Segways are really easy to drive and don’t crash and people don’t fall off of them unless they are doing something wrong or stupid (like riding near a cliff!) despite what someone else said above. I’m sure she’s really good at driving it if she does it all of the time. But the way she’s having to hold the stroller wouldn’t give you very good control of it, so still a bad idea.
