  1. That looks like some type of Python/constrictor, which can unhinge it’s jaw to swallow prey larger than the size of it’s head. I hope that kid didn’t wind up as lunch.

  3. @energizer, I’ve seen a picture of a Burmese Python that exploded after swallowing a gator whole (the gator swallowed alive). Not too long ago, I read a story in my hometown paper about how a Burmese Python killed a 2-year-old girl. Wild animals don’t make good pets.

  5. I wouldn’t worry to much about that kid being eaten by the looks of things that python just ate. You can see the lump in the snakes body. We have several snake and our kids love them.

  11. Ive seen that before. that kid rides on that snake. leave the snake and his kid alone. snakes make awesome pets if you know what you’re doing…in the case of the death in Fla…the snake was in an unsecure enclosure, hadnt been fed in a looong time….parents are at fault for neglect of the snake.

  13. Seriously there is nothing wrong here. That kid is clearly very comfortable with the snake and knows how to handle it. The snake is obviously well cared for and comfortable with the kid. They’re friends leave them be, plus from the looks of the environment the regions water is probably more dangerous for that kid than the snake

  15. I believe this is in Indonesia, in a place where snakes are considered the Earthly forms of a god that they worship. These people feel blessed that the snake chooses to live in their home.

  21. This snake adopted this kid when he was a baby and they spend all their time together. There was a show about stuff like this and they were on it and there was an interview with the dad. That was a few years ago and the kid is older now still looks the same only a little bigger.

  23. PS alos being the owner of red tailed boas and ball Pythons they don’t have a taste for humans. They are picky eaters and once they start with one kind of food it’s very hard to get them to change to something else. I think this fat healthy snake is well fed on rats from the village they live in.

  27. Holy crap, it’s Mowgli and Kaa! Wonder if the snake can hypnotize with its eyes…”Truuuust innn meeeee….juuusssst innnn meeeeeee…” =) But yeah, that’s a large, healthy, rat-eating snake, and it’s obviously quite happy where it is. If it felt threatened, it would be constricting the kid. They seem to like each other.

  29. We have snakes and my kid loves them. we’re very family oriented with our pets and my kid plays with them all the time. Also he is a very picky eater. The only thing we can get him to touch is mice.

  31. Awwww(: It’s just so damn cute. That’s true friendship, and I don’t care what some of you people think, No pet is completely safe, not even our common house pets. So just because you don’t understand how to function with one particular type of animal does not make it a bad pet or the mom and dad bad parents.

  33. That snake looks about as close to heaven as he can get. They are friends, and they both seem comfortable with each other. People are always down casting snakes because of their appeal, but raised properly and taken care of snakes make amazing pets.
