Pretty sure this is from Henan, China. If falls under the one-child policy, so the kids aren’t all hers. She is taking the neighborhood kids to school. In China, most kids generally don’t skip school; instead they work hard to get into the key schools. Why so many boys? Henan has a pretty big gender imbalance. To fix the problem, families whose only child is a daughter are paid a monthly allowance by the government. It doesn’t seem to be working. Based on a 2009 British Medical Journal study, the ratio in Henan is over 140 boys for every 100 girls in the 1-4 age group. The situation may be quite that bad; however, because families with more than one child often do not register their daughters to avoid paying fines. The girl in the video is most likely registered — unregistered kids typically have troubles accessing public education and state subsidized healthcare.
