Yes, it is sad that she put the baby on the floor even though the floor was probably dirty, ( you can always change his/her clothes and give her/him a bath) it was probably much safer than risking dropping a happy, wiggly, curious, baby while getting a slurpee. In our child birth class our doctor stressed the importance of putting infants on the floor rather than on counters or in grocery carts and to make his point he told us about one of his patients who fell off the counter at JCPenneys in Ft Collins CO. The baby had head injuries and did not make it. I would rather see a baby on the floor next to mom than in a hot car on warm day when you feel like you need a slurpee.
