UPDATE: Mother Of Laundromat Baby Pressing Charges
We posted a shocking video of what appeared to be two parents accidentally locking their child in a machine at the laundromat, which automatically started and ran for apparently five minutes with the child inside. Today we learned that those two were not the parents, but in fact they were babysitting the child and didn’t even tell the mother it happened!
Sakia David tells The Today Show’s Ann Curry her horrific side of the story; explaining that the woman in the video was the babysitter and that she doesn’t know the male. Rather than telling the truth, the unidentified babysitter lied and said the child fell down some stairs.. But when the security video went viral, Sakia saw it and feared it might be her child. It wasn’t until police arrived at Sakia’s door the next morning that she confirmed it.
We’d like to know your opinion! Do you think the babysitter and her friend should be charged? Vote in the poll below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

A South Carolina baby was brought into AnMed Health Hospital in Anderson, suffering from alleged neglect and illness. The baby was taken to the ER after a concerned party urged the baby’s mother, 20-year-old Michell Shontel Butler, to take action as the baby was sick. According a police report, that person, who was unnamed, gave the baby some Tylenol and noticed the baby tugging at his ears. Upon arrival to the emergency, nurses changed the baby’s diaper and noticed a few maggots falling out.
The report also states that drug exposure was revealed after a blood and urine analysis was done on the baby boy. Police apparently got a search warrant for the mother’s home and found baby formula and diapers but found the apartment to be extremely messy.
Butler, who appears to be teary-eyed in her mug shot, has been charged with child neglect. The baby is expected to fully recover.

A Fishers mother was arrested Tuesday after two toddlers were found wandering their neighborhood alone.
Sarah Martin, 23, faces neglect of a dependent, possession of a controlled substance and possession of Marijuana charges.
According to officials, a neighbor called police to the 13100 block of Knollwood place near 131st Street and Harrison Parkway around 10:15 a.m. The neighbor said the children were walking around with just t-shirts on so she took them into her home and put diapers on them.
Police said the children were too young to tell them where they lived. After an hour of searching, police were able to find a neighbor who recognized the children.
When police got to the home on Buffett Parkway, which is several blocks away from where the children were found, they found marijuana and Adderall inside the home. Martin admitted to police that she had smoked the marijuana and swallowed the Adderall and simply fell asleep while watching her two children. She said she didn’t know the children had left the home until officers woke her.
Martin is being held in the Hamilton County Jail.
The children are now staying with a relative.
