THE NAME GAME: LUCIFER

Naming your new bundle of joy Lucifer has been banned by New Zealand’s names registrar after three parents had the odd request knocked back. The country’s Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages has been cracking down on moms and dads getting too creative with their children’s names, ruling out punctuation marks such as . (Full Stop), * (Asterisk) and / (presumably “Slash”). I personally think it would be pretty awesome to see daily reactions from random people who see/hear the name. 1. I find it even more sad that they had to pass a law against naming children punctuation. What were the parents thinking?!

  3. When you consider the fact that Lucifer was actually the devil’s name when he was still an angel and it means “Bringer Of Light”, Lucifer is actually not a bad name, his name was changed to Satan, meaning “the adversary” when he was cast down from Heaven

  5. Let us not forget the nine year old Kiwi whose was moved to court guardianship because her parents named her Lalula Does The Hula From Hawaii.
